May 2015 – Avalon Winery, producer of CAB Cabernet Sauvignon, is pleased to announce the introduction of CHARD, 100% pure California Chardonnay from select vineyards in Santa Barbara and the Russian River Valley. CHARD will be distributed in select markets at a suggested retail price of $12.99. The wine began shipping to wholesalers on May 1, 2015.
Avalon was created by Derek Benham, owner of Purple Wine + Spirits, in 2001. Over time, the brand has been recognized as a quality leader by wine critics including a recent “Best Buy” (2012 Avalon CAB) in Wine Enthusiast and one of the Most Popular On Premise Cabernet Sauvignon brands in the 2015 Wine & Spirits Annual Restaurant Poll.
Elegant and well-balanced, Avalon CHARD offers aromas of Golden Delicious apple, orange blossom, guava with hints of vanilla and baking spices. These lovely characteristics flow through to the palate leading to a crisp and refreshing finish.
